Swift Is the Country Queen

Taylor Swift was crowned the queen of country music on Tuesday night -- landing the top honor at the CMT Awards in Nashville.

The singer opened the ceremony for the Country Music Television prizegiving with a hilarious skit, which saw her beamed aboard Star Trek's Starship Enterprise and featured in a T-Pain rap video in a comical dream sequence.

And Swift went on to land the most prestigious prize of the night -- scooping the award for Best Video for her single "Love Story."

She was also given the Best Female Video honor for the same song, and she used her opportunity on stage to pay tribute to her loyal supporters.

She told the crowd, "Thank you to the fans that come out to my shows and spend such hard work making these amazing scrapbooks and writing me letters. Reading your letters and reading your MySpace comments, anytime I have a bad day, you make those days good."

The other big winner at the ceremony was Brad Paisley, who triumphed in the Best Male Video category for "Waitin' on a Woman."

He also took home a trophy for his duet with Keith Urban -- their song "Start a Band" was named Collaborative Video of the Year.

Rascal Flatts scooped Group Video of the Year for "Every Day," and Sugaland were named Duo of the Year, for their hit "All I Want to Do."

The USA Weekend Breakthrough Video honor went to the Zac Brown Band ("Chicken Fried"); the Wide Open Country Video award was presented to Kid Rock ("All Summer Long"); and the CMT Performance of the Year went to Alan Jackson, George Strait, Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley ("Country Boy").

The night saw performances from stars including Swift, Paisley, Toby Keith, Sugarland, Urban and Rascal Flatts.
